Train Your Brain to Improve Your Memory
Scientists says that their are three things separate people who seem to have a sharp memory from those who struggle with their recollections.
1.They have enhanced ability to remember are usually more interested in the subject matter.
2. They pay more attention to it and concentrate harder.
3.They make a greater effort to memorize and remember the information.
It’s important to use your brain effectively. Applying the following techniques
will help you to improve your memory.
Intention: Get into the habit of planning to remember.
Repetition: Repetition can be effective for remembering
small chunks of information, but it doesn’t work as well for larger amounts.
Chunking: Dividing a large amount of information into smaller
chunks or categories will make it easier to remember.
Association: As strange as it may sound, your brain
finds it easier to remember two items if they are linked
in some way, rather than separate. So, try making associations
in the information you want to remember.
Meaningfulness: It’s much harder to memorize information that
does not make sense to you. Try putting more effort into
understanding ideas before you attempt to store them in your memory.
Visualization: Pictures, shapes and colours are easier to
remember than words or numbers. It is, therefore, very
important to present information in a way that is visually
stimulating.
The next time you attend a meeting or other event and want to remember
what you learn, try applying these six techniques.
You may be surprised at the results.
